Description It’s 2016 and I first joined deviantART and started taking photos in 2006: later this year, in October, it will be ten years of GothicNarcissus. I thought it would be nice to celebrate that by publishing once a month a tribute photograph to the artists who brought me to this website and made me realise I had something to tell with my photographs, and here is the third one. I have written a blog entry about this little project.

This month I’m tributing the amazing and talented Blackeri, aka Marta dahlig . I’ve probably said it a few times already, but she was the actual reason why I joined deviantArt: six of her Seven Deadly Sins were out, I was looking forward to the final one so I joined here and watched her to get notified. And then I decided not to just be a lurker with an empty gallery but try to take some pictures myself and well, it escalated quite a lot. So thank you, Marta, I owe you big time.
Some specifics about the work: BriarRose was the first model I thought of for a Blacker tribute, and she accepted. At first I wanted to do something which recalled the Seven Deadly Sins, but while browsing through Marta’s works and brainstorming her work Moths caught our attention because BriarRose had an idea involving moths lingering in her mind for some time. Marta has often done Art Nouveau-inspired works, so we opted for a very similar look to that we used on Mesmerism and Earthly Temptation with some different details. Marta’s specialty being digital paintings, I aimed for a very pictorial feel in my photos as well.
Now, this tribute series was supposed to be made of one-shot works but, of course, when BriarRose and I get creative together, such a thing as “Let’s take this one photo and call it a day” is never an option, so we ended up with a little storytelling in four images. I hope you enjoy it!
