Description It’s 2016 and I first joined deviantART and started taking photos in 2006: later this year, in October, it will be ten years of GothicNarcissus. I thought it would be nice to celebrate that by publishing once a month a tribute photograph to the artists who brought me to this website and made me realise I had something to tell with my photographs, and here is the second one. I have written a blog entry about this little project.

Now, I guess it’s no big secret that music is a huge part of my life and I find most of my inspiration in it. When things get rough, I also find a huge deal of solace in it, so this concept has been floating around my head for quite some time now and has also leaked onto other photos such as Mary Jane Holland . With a tribute series coming up, I thought I might as well use it to pay a tribute to Tessa Beebe, aka Tessaii : her photos were very inspirational for me back in the day, especially those with her model Aaron. In this photo I tried to capture and mash together a few elements from four of her photos which I really love, namely the vinyls (which is why I thought the music = solace theme would fit this tribute), the make up and hairstyle, the pose, the filter and the angle. Of course, I hope I got to give it enough of my own spin.
Side note: those two vinyls, which I have handled extra carefully, are the double Forever Is The World LP by Theatre of Tragedy which is, to date, my favourite album ever. The smaller one is a promotional single for Get The Devil Out Of Me / Smalltown Boy by Delain, which I received as a gift with a CD purchase. I’m not a huge vinyl collector as I wouldn’t have something to spin them on, but I think they are awesome at representing the idea of music visually.

the angle of view is amazing... But what is more, it is your eyes that captures one of the observer and plunges him squarely in the picture... nice eyes by the way
