Actually, it’s a little ambiguous wether Dorian’s birthday is today or tomorrow, since Wilde says “It was on the ninth of November, the eve of his own thirty-eighth birthday” and the expression might mean both it was the day before or the evening of his birthday. In translation of the novel I read, though, it is stated that it was the exact day, so I take the information as correct and celebrate his birthday today.
I thought the lyrics of the song by Theatre of Tragedy (the English version of their Der Tanz Der Schatten) do fit the character quite well, don’t they?
