"Sparky" said they're not lesbians. And if anything, I would believe him, were it not for the line, "If you want that kiss to be from me, Charles, consider it a good-night kiss from Peppermint Patty, 'cause I think she likes you", which implies that even when she herself is quite fond of ol' Charlie Brown, Marcie is willing to forgo that if her role model of sorts in Peppermint Patty is trying to woo him too ("You're holding my hand, Chuck, you sly dog"). Of course, this idea is counter-acted by scenes in "He's a Bully, Charlie Brown" wherein Marcie tries to get summer school-bound Peppermint Patty jealous when the glasses-wearing tag along and everyone's favorite blockhead end up at camp together. But this could be just a testament to Marcie's own weirdness, because despite her gentle bookworm-esque nature, Marcie seems to relish in the fact that calling her superior "sir" greatly annoys said companion. What's even odder is that despite the fact that both crush on the blockhead, Marcie also seems to like it when Peppermint Patty abuses her (which could implicate that at least Marcie could be bisexual), as seen in the following comic scan: [link]
