I'm considering doing a variation of the 100 Themes challenge, where I draw a portrait for each theme. I'll see what happens.This one would be #99 - Solitude.

You don't need to spend your talent on projects that take so long you don't even get a feeling of success when you complete them because it's drowned in the relief of not having the burden.
Make prints or take commissions.
Or do collaborations and gift art. WAY better waste of time.
Love the classic comic-book style outlines. Your picture is so much bolder than the stock!
You can tell you have a talent for realism by looking at a picture that isn't realism. That's both novel and awesome.

I can see the areas you've erased in the background, by the way. It's probably just because I'm using a laptop. I always erase using a soft-edge brush so it's at least natural-looking to anyone who can notice it.

I duplicated the layers in PS three times and set them to multiply.. then I could see the problem.
Your monitor must be dark!
All fixed now. This edit has a lot darker lines too...

But I want to do it. I really do. I'm tired of creating things for other people, this is purely for myself. Since I tend to be undecided about what to draw, I thought the list of concepts would give me a good starting point. Whether I finish the challenge or not doesn't bother me, it's not like I'm "OMG MUST DO 100 DRAWINGS!"; I just want to get back into drawing like I used to before uni took over.
I'm actually happy with this drawing, it really just flowed for me, so no crits this time. I'll say in the descriptions if I do though.
Hmm, no matter what bright/contrast setting I've got on my monitor, I can't pick up the faults in the background.
I usually do it with a soft brush too, but since it looked okay onscreen I didn't bother...
Not too sure how to fix something I can't see. :/

Yeah. Most of the really general ones are fine to work from, but they don't really force you to produce something awesome, and most of the others just suck.

You could cruise wikiquote for quotes you like and use them as themes.
