Eowyn's my favorite rohirrim, and she's well depicted with this lovely picture.

The only thing I will recommend is that the extensive attention to detail for her face be distributed to all of the body. Some parts appear more rushed when compared to her face and especially her eyes (which look awesome!) It detracts from the quality and detail of the whole to have other parts be more 'rushed' -- though in the end the composition is still quite successful.

She does look like a more mature, wiser Eowyn The detail on the face IS fantastic!! This picture is actually extremely moody and pensive.

This looks great! Thanks so much for doing it for us (I'm the co-editor of the mag)! We're hoping the first issue will be out around late april-early may, depending on how long it takes me to put it together It's basically a e-zine written by geek girls for geek girls who love intelligent things like good books, movies, music, art, etc. Eowyn is our first feature girl. So look for it sometime in the near future! (I'll try to post a link to it)

You know what, she looks more mature than Eowyn in the movie - as if from that period in her life when she has a few adorable kids with Faramir and is this distinguished kind of matron, but there is still a special sparkle in her eyes... I like it a lot. She has something about her that actually reminds me of you, but can't pinpoint what... I like her hair a lot, too, and this sort of subtle and a bit smirky smile

Thanks very much. I'm delighted with your comment. This was a picture that I could NOT get to work out exactly the way I wanted to, so eventually I said "Okay, this is as far as it goes."

Thanks. That background happened by accident. I had painted it black and gold and REALLY didn't like the effect. Since I don't work in layers, it seemed I might have to erase it or color over it. I decided to do something I had never done before - take it into Photoshop and see if I could color correct it. I forget what filter I used - I was just muddling around - but with some adjusting it produced the color you see in the pic now. I still didn't like the texture of the background, though, so I made it into a very fine mosaic. Unfortunately that completely obliterated the details of the character, so I had to re-draw her.
