Aleki, Mahi's brother and protector of Sekai in the Mana book series.

His fiercest battles were toothless, and waged amongst friends and siblings. Now his friends are captured, and he must protect the life of his king, forsaking his own in service to him.

You can probably see where I did some major erasing. He used to be covered with the same kind of tattoos that Sekai has, but I found out that it was really just the Matai who received those kinds of tattoos. Otherwise, the design is reminiscent of typical Samoan warriors.

They usually wear these large, elaborate head-dresses, which stick out and are actually taller than their heads. However, Aleki's role in the first few chapters requires stealth, so it didn't seem practical. He'll likely dress in the proper attire later on in the book.
