I have always been a huge fan of this film; the sets, costumes, style, make-up... all amazing. And Gary Oldman owns this movie. He totally rocks the hell out of it.

I chose this image as I felt this was some of the greatest make-up I'd ever seen. It still holds up after twenty years.

Sorry kids, there was no way on earth I was going to spend only 30 minutes on this... I knew that the moment I saw the topic. Total time was closer to two hours.

Original 6" x 9" Bristol smooth; Copic cool grays (with a couple red dots) and white colored pencil and white opaque paint for highlights.

This is my favorite cinematic version of Dracula too...

...and your work impeccable as always...

At first i thought that it was made with some kind of computer drawing program ...but i loved it more when i realised that its made with the traditional way...

I love artists who still work with the traditional ways ...that's what i do too...

I still remember this scene, so awesome! Well captured here. We really don't see SFX like this anymore unfortunately. Such great design.

I am glad you did not sacrifice this beauty to the 30 minute gods. This is so awesomely rendered. Rough in some areas (which I like), tight in others. This is top quality work! Mad skills you have, sir.

Thanks, Paul.

I felt compelled to rewatch it after having done the illustration (it's been likely a decade or more since I'd watched it). What a gorgeous film; costumes, sets, effects... it's an amazing movie for sure. Reinforced what I have always thought of it.

After I had the initial loose sketch, I was a little scared to start hitting the values... it took so long to do the face I feared the whole things was going to be a waste of time. Pretty happy in the end, though.

Thanks, Tony. It was the values that were murder; reason why it took two hours...

Thanks, Don.

I like your young, classy Oldman as Dracula. I was torn which version to draw but the giant bat won out.

Thanks, Gabriel. I almost went with the bat design myself. Funny how our choices complemented one another.

Thanks, Tony.

It's been a few years since I've watched it. I watched the trailer via Vudu to show Mindy last night (she's not seen the film); even the old trailer made the hairs on my arm stand up.

...now she wants to watch it...

I saw it at the Cinema shortly after I got married, it is scary, but erotic too...I had never thought of Victorian dresses as sexy, till I saw that film?
