Daily Sketch ChallengeThere's been some concept art from Guardians of the Galaxy floating about that many theorize was intended to be Richard Rider.Β I used that helmet basic concept with the traditional, more current costume from the comics.
Worked on it for 15 minutes a day for about four days.Β
Original 6" x 9", Bristol smooth; Copic cool and warm gray markers, copic multiliner, white opaque paint and white colored pencil for highlights.

Really, really like the way you sort of used a negative space technique for the "rocket trail." Β Really pops.Β

Thanks, Jeff.Β Sadly it may "pop" a little more than intended.Β There's a bit of grayscale halo on the inside of the trail visible in the original that was utterly crushed by the scanner.
Makes me realize that I need a stellar camera and a permanent lighting rig and setup to just shoot everything to get better images to post.Β Hell, oftentimes my iPhone does a better job of staying true to the illustrations than either my digital camera or my scanner.
