I mean when the story goes from soren and coryn to ...what was his name again? ...uuuuuh..the snowy owl king from the previous times. and his story in general.

Oh, yeah, the legends. I think it was cool to read the legends, but part of me was also like, "but what about Coryn?"

I'm always surprised how much better animals turn out when I use a reference, although I shouldn't be. I don't know why but I seem to have a subconscious problem with using references. They're good though, I should do that more!
Also it's nice to fully shade something in pencil, I feel like I haven't done that in a long time.

Oh yes, I understand what you mean. Using references seems to be a big problem for some people. They help us to improve or at least to understand some things better than before. But for some reason we struggle to use them.
When I started drawing I never wanted to use a photo as reference, because to me it felt like cheating. Yep, sounds pretty dopey and sometimes I still stuck on this opinion but I try to get over it.
But even if I would use a reference, my drawings will be not a quarter as good as yours q:
I'm looking forward to see more of them c:

No, I feel the same way! That's why I have trouble using them, because I feel like it's cheating or that I shouldn't have to rely on something to draw. But that's probably very silly.
And don't put yourself down, dummy. I love your stuff, and I still hold that you draw a lot of things better than me (I'm jealous of your dragon style).

Nah, probably it's not even a bad habit. After all we just don't want to copy something. But on the other hand using a reference should be quite normal. We subliminal get all our inspiration by looking around. The nature, movies, music, other artists, etc. All this helps us to do what we love and get better. The only difference is that we use photos knowingly in order to draw what we see. And this step gives us doubts. At least I came to this point when I think about it. So using a reference is just like studying the object. I hope this is a bit helpful. ..and I hope I can remember it later on q:
Also I know a lot of things you can draw better. You are amazing with pencils, the anatomy is very good, I always wonder how you draw clothes so good.. I could write a lot more And of course I try to feel better about my art, I promise. That's just another artistic habit.. self-criticism. Okay, maybe I have too much of it ^^' Thank you, I'm glad to hear that you like what I do. But your dragons are amazing, too! And I really like how you draw fauns and all that creative and inspirational works.
