Submission for 2011 January Superhero of the Month [link]Redesign Contest, BlackCat
The basic concept of my version of the BlackCat derives from French maid cosplay costume. I want to make Felicia more girly compared to her current costume design. However I didn't entirely want to make Felicia overly feminine and 'sugary' to the point of being soft. Therefore I downplay the the French Maid costume and merging the idea with Felicia's original black spandex costume. The fusion makes fun-loving, thrill-seeking Felicia rather girly and cute, yet naughty and dangerous.

Very nice. I like the bells, the mini-skirt, and purse thing you added. Makes her look cute yet a hint of mischievousness at the same time too. I know a lot of comic book characters seem to be leaning towards being practical but how practical can a spandex suit be?
An example of that might be DC's Catwoman. I hate her latest black leather bodysuit. She lost a lot of the playful sexiness that she used to have. Your redesign of Black Cat holds a lot of whimsy that helps define Felicia's character.

I guess doing a redesign of the existing characters is an avenue to made them the way we perceive them to be like.
Spandex seems more for eye-candy and to fullfilly our fantasy. haha

wow! totally different than anything i could have imagined. it has that lolita french-made look while adding a bit of Felicia fromDarkstalkers, which frankly i think is totally appropriate. i'd imagine her pestering spidey in the spider-man manga.

Maybe I should do a Manga Spidy for my Felicia to pester... haha But its just so hard to redesign something that is already have such a strong grip in everyones mind. haha

I haven't been doing any illustrations on the famous iconic characters like Spidy, Batman or Ryu(Street Fighter)... Maybe I should. haha
