You might want to get some kind of case liners to go in between the fluff and the collection. Finally got around to getting some myself and it looks so much better than the white stuff ;w;

Yeah sure, here drive.google.com/open?id=1o8FK… ^_^
I got the liners when I got the cases from just-in-case.biz/ but any piece of clean fabric cut to size would be good enouth 'w'

Holy hell...I didn't think it was legal to own a Victoria Cross. Nice score! Any idea whose it is?

Unfortunately the full-size Victoria cross is the only replica I have in my collection because it displays nicely with the ribbon bar and the mini-medal which are originals. The ribbon bar is a real WWI era Australian awarded VC and the mini-medal came with it. A real Victoria Cross is like $200,000...so I wish it was real..but...

They are rank badges for either parade or battle dress uniforms. One on the left is Warrant Officer 2 (British Army) and the right is Warrant Officer 2 (British Army). The one on the left is different because it is also Regimental Quartermaster Sergeant.

No problem they are also post 1952 as that crown design is of the current Queen.

The way to tell the difference is a WW2 crown doesnt dip in at the middle, it points up. Less heart shaped more spade. Google it for reference.

I was googling and saw Elizabeth has a purple velvet crown.

No I meant the crown on badges. The shape not colour.

Grand-Lobster-King In reply to wolverine3333 [2016-08-14 22:31:28 +0000 UTC]

Oh. So they are depicted as red velvet despite the real color?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

wolverine3333 In reply to Grand-Lobster-King [2016-08-15 18:15:42 +0000 UTC]

Yeah. Maybe due to the fact that the colour of the British Army is red. The R.A.F is Sky Blue and the Royal Navy is Navy Blue.

badges.wyedeanstores.com/image… The looks pretty close to yours. Had a quick search and they both appear to be rank insignia for Warrant Officer  Class 2.

Zared-Tregonwell In reply to Grand-Lobster-King [2016-08-14 17:56:31 +0000 UTC]

No. And as a Brit I feel ashamed to admit I know absolutely nothing about British military uniforms and insignia. I always thought a lot of British cap badges were metal, so it shows what I know.

Nowadays, in the age of bullion extinction they are all metal as far as I know.

You're absolutely right. These are well made, I would never have the patience to stitch these.

Neither would I. I barely have the patience to mend pants, let alone stitch those.
