I just want to know (if it's no problem to tell me) where can I find the gloss paint, 'cause I was looking for it and couldn't find it.

Thanks a lot and have a nice day ^^

Really cool tutorial! Some of the larger eye balls can be very costly. Now if I can find the things you used as the clear lense in a craft store! I hope they come in different sizes as I have obitsu dolls and they use really tiny eyes.

Try looking up round smooth top cabochon. That's what I found and I think it'll suit the purpose.

I've looked at this tutorial about a million times! I love it so much!

And to help people looking for the parts:
For people living in the US, Hobby Lobby and most craft stores carry the pieces you are looking for. You'll want the circular flat-back rhinestones. I'm not sure of what size though. And for the white part of the eyes, I would recommend finding some plastic round beads.

I'd use some white clay that you could shape to customise to your lens and doll eye hole. It's more convenient that all that filing!

Round cabochon also works (perhaps better because it's a pain to find non beveled rhinestones). Thanks for the tip! It makes sense now

Hey,I was browsing through the comments for informations on this tutorial and found your post, hope you don't mind my intromission.

You can find the proper names of products on [link] at the workshop area.
And, although it's in japanese, there's this site here [link] that have the most detailed tutorial I've seen so far.
I can't understand what's written, but there are so many pictures of the process, that the only things that would be necessary to know are the products names, wich we can find somewhere else.

Hope it helps, good luck on your project!~♥

;_; but, i dont know where buy the materials...specifically the lends...in what tipe of store i can find it?

Mischavie [2008-01-22 15:09:26 +0000 UTC]

Oh wow! That looks amazing on the finished product! I'd love to make eyes like that for my figures!

I'm guessing you used clay that was air-dried, right? Because I'd imagine the eye would deform if you baked it...

HypotheticalBlush [2007-06-01 17:12:49 +0000 UTC]

Would you be able to tell me the size (prefferably in pixels) of the eyechips you make? I'd like to offer them to the DoA crowd, but I'm afraid what I am making is too small.

yuki8cute [2007-05-09 04:05:10 +0000 UTC]

i've made the head... but it broke into peices ... i just used a cheap clay just for trial and error sculpting... it turned out ok... so now i'm looking for high quality clay... but havent the time to look for one...
