Say cheese(y)!2013 - the year of long livestreams, lovley laughs and ludicrously large pictures.
This year I made a point of drawing a character a day as well as my drawing a day challenge. I used a giant sheet of card (size:A0 - 46.8 x 33.1 inches) until I realised that only one of these would not suffice for the whole year. This art is comprised of 2 of these sheets, with 6 months work on each one.
Apart from occasional instances where I had to draw a few characters in advance due to being away from home and unable to take the huge boards with me, I stuck to this pretty well.
The list for who was drawn when can be found at the bottom of this description. Sometimes I tried to keep the characters relevant to the dates if I could. If you'd rather have character-spotting fun and eye-strain jollies without the spoilers, then don't look below. I used many of my own bunch, even a few minor or one-shot characters and a fair few of those from you lot too, so you may see a few familiar or new faces here. Happy spotting! And no, Wally isn't here. Or Waldo if you're American.
Also, for any of my American fans, I should point out that us wacky Brits write the day first, then the month, then the year (hence 1st of April becomes 1/4/13, 28th of February becomes 28/2/13 etc) A handful of the dates have been 'cleverly' hidden as well. Click here for a more detailed list that shows the day, date, number, character and artist responsible for said character. Also included are characters full names where appropriate.
Media used - A0 mounting card, pencil, pen (Muji biros, Uni-balls, Pilot fineliners and Sharpies), markers (Promarkers, Ciao and Copics), watercolour pencils (Staedtler Aquarells and Caran D'ache) and paint. And a little bit of Photoshoppery.

As for the hidden dates - Sometimes I intergrated the numbers into the characters outfit or something they were holding (like an ID badge or a book.)

Well spotted on that decision! I didn't want to have TOO much action movement but on the other hand I didn't want everyone just standing rigidly staring at us and grinning vacantly (except where it'd be in character!) Also wanted to have some character interacting in wee set pieces, or themed groupings. Some of the fun came from characters interacting who would not normally even meet very often.
You're a great friend and a swell artist (on all levels of that word) so it was a pleasure to include a bunch of your wacky chums too - goes without saying really, but I said it anyway! Here's to 2014 and more of the same RF!

Actually no, it wasn't - as mush as I like C-H I don't think they invented the group shot! I simply saw some massive card in the art shop and thought....I can use that. Managed to come up with an art challenge for this year as well, but more on that later.
And yes, I did make a point of drawing characters on their representative's birthdays if I could. On a couple of occassions they coincided bizarrely enough, but these things'll happen.
Glad to have you onboard - you've been a fun chum and it's been great to chat and share cartoony stuff with each other this year so I can't thank you too much for that! More of the same please.
