Well a little tip or two.
First off don't assume that anyone else knows what they are doing.
Second if you use something that has lots of formulas try switching them off to see if they are actually contributing to the image or not.
Thirdly if you want to tweak something that has like 2000000000 iterations, first look at the info tab and drop them near to what the piece is actually using.
