A former Nightbrother, turned Sith Apprentice, turned insane mad man, turned Nightbrother again briefly, turned criminal mastermind, turned leader of the Mandalorians & Death Watch briefly, then turned uhhh Palpatines slave? VERSUS A former Nightsister, turned uh pirates slave I think, turned Jedi Padawan, turned Sith Acolyte, turned Nightsister again, then turned Bounty Hunter. WHO EVER WINS, we loose!

Wow. That's a hard decision for the outcome. Both are quite skilled with the Force, but I would think Maul would reign victorious. It would be a hard fought battle, however.

Why did Lucas kill him off in the first movie...
He was silent, brooding, badass, and had already killed Obi-Wan's master. His presence as a villain would've been incredibly menacing, and his subsequent death at the hands of the rage-filled Anakin would've been a wake-up call for Obi-Wan and would have actually shocked viewers. Nobody gave a crap about Dooku.

There are 3 bad asses in the prequels, Jango, Maul and Grievous. In Lucas' mind there a threat because they can out do Vader. And no one is allowed to outdo Vader.

Though for the record Grievous was less badass and more "Arrogant cowardly guy with breathing problems who wields four lightsabers with no proficiency whatsoever, depending solely on his unique cyborg abilities to fight". At least he was in the movie, though he got slightly better in "The Clone Wars".
But yes, I can see why he thought Maul would just show up Vader. Mind you, Vader had some impressive telekinetic abilities and could take a whooping, so they could've just had a scene in the later prequels where Anakin beat Maul using Vader-like abilities, eventually killing him (preferably after Obi-Wan refused to).

Asajj is not a Sith. Maul was skilled enough to kill Obi-Wan's mentor, Ventress was defeated by Anakin. Maul survived being cut in half. Ventress was defeated by Grievous. Maul would make quick work of Asajj.

I may be wrong, but I do believe that Ventress (or someone like Ventress) was supposed to be the apprentice in Phantom Menace, so maybe that's what this whole fight is about. In any case though, Maul would mop the floor with that bald weirdo.

It's completely badass, but I feel I have to point out that Maul's teeth aren't nearly yellow and pointy enough. Also, I would love to see the next frame where Ventress is sliced in 2.
