I like how it has both smooth gradients and then blends. Looks almost painterly.

what i ment in the erllyer comment was that, ya have to many highlights were they dont need to be and as for the shadows also.
mostly in the cheeks near the mouth....
both eyes are alittle off 2.....they are not lineing up at the same thing.....move each of puples of the eye inward tords the nose.
you did better than i could have anyway....but i can line up eyes little effert....
overall its amazeing how well you did!

I don't use layers.
I adjust the level of opasity and shading each object.
