Muspelheim and Niflheim the worlds of primordial fire and ice in Norse mythology - my stylised versions of course
Drew these for an assignment about representing balance. I chose to depict the cosmic ash tree Yggdrasil with all the various world from Norse mythos.

I hold with those who favour fire
But if it had to perish twice
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice,
Is also great
And would suffice.

Heh fire and ice are most often thought of as destructive but what I like about Norse myth is that it has the opposite view on these two elements. The two worlds, one of fire and one of ice mixed to create water in the void and from there like grew.
