Under the blooming cherry blossom trees, there she sits and waits. She sits and waits as a warm breeze blows her hair, turning the pages of her textbook. Petals drift lazily to the ground around her creating a light pink carpet. Laughter and excited chatter surround her on all sides, happy to have finished a day of thinking. Friends call out happy goodbyes to each other as they leave for other places. Among all of this, she waits. She sits, looking all around her, up at the puffy marshmallow clouds that fill the light blue sky and at the pale pink flowers that cover the branches above her head. Busy bees fly urgently from blossom to blossom while they fight against the breeze tugging lightly at their buzzing wings. A bird soars overhead like a black star against the blue sky, drifting with the flow of the breeze. Still, she waits. What she is waiting for does not cross her mind as she smiles at the simple beauty of nature which surrounds her. No one pays her any heed as she smiles at the laughing groups of friends. Even those who are her friends do not seem to notice her as she waits for nothing in particular. Despite her loneliness, she is content to stare at the sky, the blossoms, the bees, the bird, the laughing friends, and wait.
