I finally finished it and damn I'm tired....As many of you allready know this style was inspired by my Box seri three icons. The style has an overall soft minimulist abstract feel that has a rather calming affect on oneself. Unique without being offensive.
This version "postmod1" contains only the standard size startmenus. I wanted to combine both the compacts and standards in one file, but Stylebuilder wouldn't let me compile a file that large (20megs) so I had to split them in two seperate files. "postmod2" wich I will also post will contain only the compact startmenus.
Other than that they will be identicle. I suggest downloading both because they both have there own distinct feel.
-Eight color variations, each with it's own distinct start panel.
-individual shellstyles included
-choice of fonts "Swis, or Verdana" also included. Please see the readme.txt for info regaurding font selection.
-optional buttons also included.
Thats about it.

Corrected the problem with font choices. Damn Stylebuilder never cuts ya any slack. Just overwrite this file with your existing postmod1. Thanks and sorry about that.

Update2:
Corrected a few more problems. Mainly I forgot to finish alot of the taskbar bitmaps so now it's complete. I also corected the problem with the flash app not showing up enough. Hopefully thats fixed now, but since I have no way of testing it I don't really know. I also corrected the incomplete scroll bars in the green variation. Hopefully this will be the last update, but time will tell. Thanks and once again a thousand pardons.

Update3:
I have been alerted of a problem with the the shellstyle on slate1 not loading. There is a fix for this and it's very simple.
Go to windows/resorces/themes/postmod1/Shells and rename the folder "slate1" to "Normalcolor" less the "" of course. This will allow the shell to load for that color. I will also upload the modded version as well for the new downloaders.

Damn DA!! I get the evil "file cannot be found" page when trying to download this classic beauty. I would really love to try out this style, I like the variety of colors and the post modern concept. I'll keep checking back to see if I can grab it laterm also I too would like the wp when it's finished

Simply A-Mazing!!! love t!! since i patched my uxtheme.dll i've tried tons top rated of VS's but yours is simply the best, i just deleted every other VS i had on my PC.
the only improvement i'd like to suggest is to make the taskbar match the color of the active window, i like to keep my screen as dark as posible, when working at night, and the taskbar is way too bright.
PS: The start menu is awesome.

I really like this but I do have Several Problems with that make me not wanna use it. 1. I cannot read the text b/c it's so small but I still wanna use the swiss font and if I make the font larger it changes it...could you fix this please? 2. or wait there is no #2.

I really can't understand how themes like this can get more than 2 or 3 'favourites' from the strange bunch that 'fave' something before even looking at it.. The simple fact is that whilst it looks "semi-nice" as a screenshot as a VS its terrible to use and in 99% of the cases will probably be removed after a minute or two.
The fonts and readability of the VS remains a moot point.. as does the generic feel to it.
You've got milk-teeth now, how about moving onto a decent theme for your next attempt?

Aparently you didn't read the text regaurding fonts so are you not as guilty as the rest? Or did you even bother to download at all? It basically comes down to either you like minimulism, or you don't. If it's the conventional you want well then you have one hell of alot of choices out there don't you. The field is so overwelmling crowded that I wouldn't know where to begin. In the future I strongly suggest you stick to those. Just remember the shock of the new can sometimes scare alot of people. Historys cultural battlefields is littered with it's victims, but hey thanks for commenting and have a nice day

You don't need to come out fighting .. I am merely voicing a valid point that this type of style sucks in "everyday general use".
I also love.. nay, adore "minimulism" .. but only when its done right; and this my friend is far from done right. I was actually being more than a little gracious when I rated it 3 out of 10, so think yourself more than lucky on that point alone.
I do suggest that you actually scrape out a few styles to see what makes a "good looking" "artistic" + "workable" style. There are plenty around.. you just need to escape from the little world you live in and your forary into "art" .. its not you, really. Possibly decorating a wall or something might be more your bag.
