This is gorgeous! I love that part of the game. It's so sad! *cries* She looks ticked off, which seems so unlike Saria in most cases, but I would be too if my hypothetical best friend/love interest took off, probably forever.

The forest turned out so well, with all the greenery and whatnot. Saria certainly doesn't seem too pleased about having to say good-bye to her friend. I like the techniques you used in drawing this. It turned out great.

Anyway, that's an awful lot of vines at the entrance to Kokiri village. I don't remember any at all from the game, in fact I remember a tree stump entrance and exit to each place. Also kinda amazed that she would hide there after waiting for Link on the middle of the bridge. I bet everyone's got a different interpretation of how the scene was supposed to go...

When you think about it Her best friend (and possible love interest) just left the forest where they grew up together. Put yourself in her shoes, you'd be pissed too!
As for the vines. No there wasn't any in the game but when you think about it... It's a forest. It didn't have any in the game to to graphic restraints. It's only an N64 game!

I dunno, the implication is that she's bitter about it. Like she's actually taking it out on Link.
Examples of vine growth included the Forest Temple and inside the Deku Tree. My guess is that elsewhere they were actually maintained by the kids.
