Bio: Chauncey was born to middle class parents, who raised him humble. Chauncey's parents weren't big on physical affection or even expressing their love verbally, but Chauncey was under the impression that his parents loved him unconditionally. This was all suddenly ripped away from him when he was 17, as his parents kicked him out as soon as he finished high school. No explanation was given, and Chauncey was cut off from anything his parents provided. Chauncey had been fixing up a vintage hearse (1922 Rolls-Royce 40/50 h.p. 'Silver Ghost' Hearse to be exact) for his father, but decided to take the hearse with him, as it was one of the only thing he could take with him aside from the clothes on his back. As he stopped to rest, he got the idea to become a taxi driver. He began donning the chauffeur uniform that had been given to him when the hearse restoration project had started, and began driving others around. He became prolific among human and non-humans alike for his willingness to drive anyone anywhere regardless of their reputation or species. The rejection from his parents took its toll through Chauncey adopting "better" personality traits in the hopes that he'd be likable and not able to be rejected. His personality of being mysterious, charming, and laid back comes from Chauncey suppressing his trauma and going through his loss. Chauncey often pushes others away that want to be friends or romantically involved with him out of fear that they will reject him anyway or that his own repulsiveness will drive them away. He has lived out of his car since he was 17, and has few material needs. To cope, he has somewhat of a dependency on Rosé, and he sometimes converses with his hearse as if it were a real person. Chauncey has always hidden the fact that he's secretly a demon, as the area he's in is extremely prejudiced towards non-human entities. He has reluctant friends in Harlan and Bishop, who only rely on Chauncey to drive them as no one else will. Most people, including Bishop and Harlan, view Chauncey as creepy or having ulterior motive, though he has none.
