This lovely little drawing is for ~silver-equinox , who asked for a pic of Bumblestripe and Briarlight from Warriors.Briaralight has been paralyzed from the waist down from being crushed under a tree trunk while trying to save Longtail (who ended up dying anyway). She now lives in Jayfeather's den, keeping herself busy with some exercises that help clear her chest up and stay healthy.
Bumblestripe, on the other paw, regrets every single day that he is a free-running warrior and his sister isn't. He cares for her like a true brother and is her #1 fan. He is very proud of her for staying strong and trudging through her situation everyday...

I just love how people call Millie a bad mother
Although it's their opinion and I respect them let me tell you mine now.
You see, Millie did not stop caring for Blossomfall but, look now, if you were a parent and one of your three kids got paralyzed and was not able to walk would you just ignore it? You would, of course, give more care to them instead of your healthy children. Millie was not a bad mother in my opinion, just too over-panicing against Briarlight after the accident. I agree it was not right but I saw Bumblestripe had no problem with it.
He continued his life as if nothing has happened and he still knows his mother cares about her. Blossomfall seemed to want to have all the attention to her as if she was a princess. Bumblestripe got the same treatment from Millie as Blossomfall did and instead from being a jellybean he was a sweetheart and a supportive sibling.
Just imagine, again, you have a kid with down syndrome. Or with any defect/illness and two kids who are healthy and you know they have a bright future as humans and can do something useful while the other one has to be locked in four walls for its own protection. Wouldn't you do the same A.K.A. give more care to the kid that has the problem? The other two kids would be just fine,you'd love them too and care for them but you'd spend more time with the kid that NEEDS you. and Briarlight needed her the most.
If I'd lost my gift to walk around and run I would lose my freedom and I'd be sad. My mother would spend more time with me but wouldn't stop loving my siblings. Just how a mother gives more attention to a newborn baby more than its teen kid, it's the same thing ,the baby needs it at the time, the teen not so much but this doesn't mean she stopped loving her teen kid.
I think that was enough proof to point why I belive Millie did the right thing XD

Seriously, Blossomfall was such a bitch to Briarlight. She was always whining about how her sister got all the attention. I bet Briarlight would have loved to have swapped anytime!

She (Blossomfall) was actually just miserable about the fact that her mum basically didn't care about her anymore.

I understand and respect that fact but she was also clearly jealous of Briarlight which, in my opinion, is not fair because poor Briarlight will never be able to have a life half as good as Blossomfall. True, no mother should love one kit more than the other but Blossomfall just took it too much like a drama queen for my liking.

She wasn't jealous of Briarlight's condition necessarily, but more jealous of A) The fact that Millie was basically obcessed with Briarlight and totally abandoned Blossomfall B) How easily Briarlight was able to become such a saint and keep her chin up about it, and C) How she felt like some kind of demon next to her sister. ^^

I am in the same position as she is, and it's not any better than what Briarlight is going though, I hate how people seem to side with Briar all the time, Blossomfall is hurting just as much or possibly even more.... I empathize with her so much, it's not fun when you try as hard as you can to please your parents and they look at you like you are a dirtbag, and then they give all of the love that was supposed to be yours to another sibling and all you can to is watch.
It's one of the most painful things in the world... those who don't go through it never understand

Uh! I LOVE IT! They were so sweet in the last book! I really wish Briarlight would magically heal, yet stay where she is but become super useful just as she is! She is totally one of my favorite characters and the names it that family are also big pluses in my book! Such good names! Millie is a b**** I understand where Blossomfall is coming from but she's kinda weak...*don't let her hear me say that* I do feel bad for Blossomfall though.... *huggles Briarblight, Bumblestripe, and Briarlight" 0.0 they're names all start with B's..... Just now noticed tht!
