St. James church in Kutná Hora (Czech).Altar is Baroque...Grrr...Most of Gothic buildings are spoiled by Baroque or by architect Mocker´s recostructions. But I don´t like Baroque more than Josef Mocker. Haha...his name suits to him!

By coincidence I've just submitted my own deviation of Baroque interference with the Gothic architectural aesthetic in a French church [link] . But this high altar is a truly grandiose monstrosity.

Yes!that's something terribly exagerated...that's the thing i don't like on baroque style...everithing dramatic and pompous, but one have ugly feeling, that rotten things are hiden under this facade.

It it were a different baroque, say gold and white, it would look terrible, but gold and black baroque look pretty cool with the gothic style, I think.

I think I see what you mean. The altar is certainly splendid in its way but doesn't sit well with the gothic.

yes! it's exactly as you sayed.There's so big contrast between styles.they are completly different so they are making strange effect together
