Hello again, everypony. Firstly, I'd like to wish all my watchers a happy new year and apologise for not having uploaded anything for the past few months. The reason for this is because I've had my hands full with lots of other stuff, including Christmas, a new layout based on Santa's Grotto, and what I personally believe to be my biggest MLP fanfic project to date. I daren't reveal too much at this stage, but I can at least give you all a preview of one of the two central characters in the story and tell you a little bit about her personality.

Three years after the events of Tiara in the Rough, while returning home from visiting relatives, Locomotion was forced to strike down a pack of timberwolves in the Everfree Forest after hearing a scream from nearby. Having eliminated all six of the wooden hounds, he discovered that the creature they had been attacking was a young changeling mare of roughly the same age as him. Seeing that she was more scared of him than he was of her, the red-furred unicorn took pity on her and brought her back to Zecora's hut, where he persuaded Zecora to patch her up and Twilight to give her a fair chance. The changeling explained that she had run away from her homeland, not wanting to live up to the reputation of the rest of her kind for enslaving other creatures for their love, and had had a very harsh time under the dreaded Queen Chrysalis. Since her only identity was a number - CH001FD14726198305 - Locomotion decided to call her Hornette (pronounced "hor-net"). Once she was back on her hooves, Hornette was gradually introduced to the remainder of the Main Six; and in spite of the bad rap they had had with changelings in the past, they soon warmed to her kind, conscientious if somewhat shy personality and her wish for worldwide peace and harmony - a far cry from the totalitarian ways of her queen. The rest of Ponyville, naturally, was slower to embrace her, but Locomotion stayed by her side to show her the way and defend her honour, and in time, Hornette fell in love with the red-furred railway enthusiast.

Incidentally, this picture is the very first MLP drawing that I've ever drawn wholly by myself. There have already been minor alterations made to Hornette's design since this is only a first draft; for example, the notches in her horn have been done away with, and the heart-shaped hole in her right hind leg is now on her left. Apart from that, and excluding an additional feature that she'll be gaining at the end of the story, her final design still remains true to the original.
