More horse moose. Normally I skip posting these sketches but I thought somebody might like to see them. I yoinked some pictures off of google strictly for reference.I get better results when I don’t try to finish art and just do loose gestures and shapes.
Leaning toward keeping his body wood rather than making it bronze. I feel like the bronze bells are enough.

I agree with Prin-Pardus in that the horse-like proportions in the lower sketches feel "better" to my eyes (butilovehorsessoimbiased), and, as Prin-Pardus also pointed out, ties in to Gale's backstory. Though, ultimately, this is your character so take this comment as you will.
I'm not as familiar with Gale and his story, just a few bits and pieces. Is Hhoota his mount/steed? Some of your previous work suggests this is an older character, so I'd be interested in learning more about it.
I agree with your observation regarding wood, though I also like the idea of raw amber. It seems you tossed that idea aside though.
Again, I don't know much about this creature, but it looks very important. Like an idol come to life. If that is the case (and correct me if I'm wrong), it would make sense that it would be forged from a difficult to obtain metal like bronze (that is, it required tin to make, which your notes suggest was not the easiest to come by).
I have a lot of ideas bouncing around seeing these notes, but I feel I've already overstepped my bounds as an observer and I don't want to go any farther. Suffice it to say I love stuff like this, since it gets my own ideas flowing. I would love to see more concept/idea sketches like this in the future if you would be willing to share them.

I really like the more horse-y back bits on the bottom two. Ties back to the horses his clan (tribe? I forget) centered themselves around more than the craggy bits. Really like the vegetation too - then again, a rolling stone gathers no moss....Or maybe the vegetation adapts to where he is? Or where he was most recently? Kinda carrying past cultures with him? Could spill from his horns, too, though that might muffle the whistling.
Love his creepy eyes, tho, especially after that Gale-soul-eye pic. The bell-hooves are great, too. And his lil tail holding the stick, aww.
You've probably already thought of this (& it's similar to the vegetation stuff above), but if his body were made of amber, maybe it could have things in it? Creatures, items, stuff he picks up from his travels? I dunno whether they'd be stuck in there, though, or whether he could discharge them at will....
