Description My Miss Mayleen,

Last year, last summer
....
It doesn't feel like it's been that long. Time definitely flew this year though, with Big Bertha being in the picture. She hasn't and will never beable to fill your shoes. I still have your pictures and art work of you all over the house, right where they belong...where I wish you were still here.
I wish for a lot of things that can never be, but I still believe that you helped me find Big Bertha and that you are still watching us from a far better place. A place that I wish I could have given you while you were with me, and not have sent you there. It still hurts my heart thinking how things ended and I didn't want you to suffer any longer because of me...because I know the cards you we're dealt with wasn't fair. I'd say you we're given a bad deck of cards but I'm so happy to have had you for 7 years.

You've helped me in more ways than I realized...thank you my Miss Mayleen.
I love you

....
....
This was originally going to be a wood burn, but I started with watercolors...and just didn't stop. I'm really happy with how it came out, though I should have skipped on the woodburn flowers (one of these days I'll learn how to stop myself). Currently have this on the stair's wall. So you don't have to climb the stairs to see it, but it looks better close up. I went really colorful with the watercolors and the wood held it pretty well.

Very touching.  My piece is still displayed in view in my home, along with the story of our friendship.  The art and stories will outlive both of us.

I really like how you did this drawing of Mayleen the dog. I'm so sorry to hear that your dog died last year.

This is a gentle and sentimental portrait. You're doing an awesome job making your dog remembered in such a pretty way.

Thank you

It may have taken me a year to actually make it...but I do feel better having it finished. I currently having it hanging on the wall where I'll see it every day...it's comforting to see it there. Thank you for the kind words

It seems like you had some really great dogs who brought joy into your life and were always there when you needed them. 😊 The craftsmanship on this piece is really wonderful. It's such a beautiful tribute to a furry friend. 🐶

Thank you

I was really surprised at myself for drawing her only in water color when I intended on just doing a wood burn...guess some things were just meant to be...

Thank you for the kind words.

You're welcome. 😊
My little sister has been getting into woodburning and it can be quite a challenge to master. Keep up the good work and you might be able to perform such feats with this technique and more.
