Another one from my trip to the butterfly farm with Luke.
I know the wings aren't in focus in this one, but I really like it anyway because I think it's really indicative of exactly how fast these guys were moving. They really stretched my camera and lens to their limits!

hahaha funny you should say that! I just went to the butterfly farm today, and I was unable to catch a shot of this one, very famous butterfly....but I saw one for sale, mounted in a frame and I was almost tempted to buy it

That's not a bad idea! It's one way to get them to stay still. lol And you aren't going to tell me that these ultra macros of a fly's eyeballs are using a living fly. lol

lol well I'd like to believe they are (for purists sake) but at the same time, it makes me jealous, so it might do wonders for my ego if people were using dead ones lol

How would it be possible to shoot a living fly like, unless it was stuck to something?

BTW, have you seen my macros? I was stuck on water droplets on flowers for a while, but now that Spring is sprung, I'll be doing your type stuff. So watch out! I'm gonna try to give those green eyes a reason for being green! just kidding

I think it's awesome with the wings in motion - it adds so much to the image that would have been lost... With them still, the photo would have been motionless. With them moving, the photo is alive!!
