From CH 43 of 'Lily and the Half-blood Prince:-"Sitting across a fallen log was a lone boy, dark curtains of hair covering his face, as he toyed with a small twig in the water."
Trying acrylics - after a break of many ( veru many!)years.

I really like his pose. He looks shy and embarrassed, exactly as I imagine him in this age! 
I also spend weeks with an artwork, but at the end it feels so good to see the finished illustration, doesn't it?

Thanks. Yes it was a moment of particularly conflicting feelings for Severus. I imagine he used to subconsciously 'hide' behind his curtains of long hair quite often!
Anyway, yes I certainly feel satisfied when an artwork is ready - especially since I sometimes have to work in fits and starts( with 2 very young children....)

Thanks. There is a bit more detail in the original sketch but some gets lost with scanning. The colours come out better, though some detail is lost.

Actually I'm a bit rusty.Its been AGES since I used acrylics. With work a toddler and a six-year-old, my time is very limited.This was complted i n the early hours of the morning, it's taken over two weeks to complete, and it was done too quickly, so there are mistakes. But well, there it is...
