Description ...Your Nightmares Come Alive.

Literally.

Poor Danny.

BACKSTORY TIME.

Made this when I had a nightmare about ghosts, and no, not that almost cute looking green ectopus. No. I'm not going to describe it, because, well, I don't want you having any nightmares, hmm?
So, I woke up screaming internally. And there it was. Sitting on my desk on the other side of the room. The ghost. I felt my chest explode with fear as I really woke up.

-end dramatic backstory-

Oh, that part where I woke up, still in the dream, but firmly believing I was awake? It's called False Awakening.
I used to be a Lucid Dreamer. (still do it sometimes. If you don't know what it is, PLEASE search for it. It's awesome. I don't do it anymore because I have almost no time to write down my dreams. (which is important.) I want to do it again after school. Although I doubt college is going to give me free time...)
And one of the FEW downsides is that sometimes when you want to wake from a nightmare, you find yourself still dreaming. Lucid Dreamers experience it a lot. :\
This is nothing compared to the great stuff that can happen when you dream lucid~

Like, oh, I don't know, you can FLY.

I know what the false awakening means, it means that you don't now what's fake and what's reality, oh! and the ghost that you were dreaming of just remember if it was an animal or not if it was an animal just look up what the animal symbolizes! tell me if it was a mix of animal!!! I know what that means!!! P.S. NOT doctor of any sort!!! only 14!!! I just know about and understand people and supernatural stuff!!!

Ecto-pus: *Stares wide-eyed for a moment, then returns to the Ghost Zone on its own*

Danny: "Sleepy sleepy sleepy..."

things that you here outside your dream have an effect on dreams, your senses are completely aware of what's happening noises, light, contact and any other senses you use in your daily life, when I'm dreaming I can feel that my body isn't moving and still in my bed even if I'm dreaming I'm running, so if you weren't aware of what was happening you wouldn't here your alarm, loud noises, you would only wake up when your body is fully rested so even if there was a fire you wouldn't feel it and you'd die

I was the exact same way. I was a lucid dreamer to the extreme, but now I just don't have time to keep a dream journal. I've tried a few times but I rarely have the chance. I miss it though, and keep trying to do it again. As for false awakenings, EUGH. Those ARE my nightmares. I'll have horrible scary dreams and wake up and be like "that was AWESOME." I dunno man, I just love nightmares. But then I can have false awakenings and they just freak me right out and put me totally on edge and I HATE them.

I one had a false awakening where I lost count of how many times I "woke up", but it was deep into the double digits. Nothing bad happened in them. I just woke up in bed tangled in blankets. But then I woke up in bed again. And again. And after the first few times I started trying to get my families attention by kicking and punching my brothers wall (which my bed is up against), or calling out, or getting out of bed, but every time it would get harder and harder and eugh. When I actually woke up I just lay there for like an hour trying to figure out if it was real life or not and I just couldn't even trust anything eugh. Hate false awakenings.

I only experience dreams when I... Here's an example:

One night, I stayed up till 2 AM watching Wizards of Waverly Place.

I had a weird dream of when we all went to middle school. Most people there were people I kn- Wait, all of them were people I know. At the beginning, someone comes to my house, and, since I was watching Wizards of Waverly Place, I imagined I had to hide the wizard stuff from them. Then, I went to the school, which was 49% Reasors, half Hogwarts, and 1% school. Everyone arrived, some on methods like jetpacks and rockets and flying, and half os us went to the ballroom to meet the headmistress. I, along with my friends, stayed, and we all had tickets allowing us to go to class. I went up a huge staircase to what I call the ORACLE ROOM, and when I reached the top-

"AARRRDEEEENNNN! GET UP!"

...Yeah. Pretty darn whacky... And I could touch things, feel things, I had free will, it felt like I was there. I could even read stuff. It's why I love my dreams. It's like I'm there.

Nice drawing. And no, I'm not going into middle school, I'm going into High School.

lol Danny xD I can so see this happening

Wow, lucid dreaming. Wow. Never heard of it, tho I think I experienced it a few times, at least for a minute or two before waking up. I know I flew a few times in my dreams, tho I spent the whole of it learning how to either move my wings right or levitate without falling

I must also thank you VERY MUCH for mentioning it, cuz when I went to research it I also accidentally found out about sleep paralysis. It seems my sister's been suffering from that without knowing it. She's always terrified cuz she thinks she's lying helpless in a bed, just like our grandma before she died. She'll be beyond happy to know there's a medical reason for her feeling so. Thanks

I'm SO sorry for answering half a year later! I'm a lazy butt. :1

Teehee, flying is awesome in dreams. I never used wings tho, I always do it Superman-style. (Or Danny-style, depending how you look at it. XD)
If you ever have another lucid dream, try broomsticks. Like Harry Potter. It's awesome.

But I'm glad you found out what was going on with your sister! I know from experience that sleep paralysis can be terrifying, when you don't know what it is. I used to have it a lot before discovering lucid dreaming, and along with it sleep paralysis. (Just like you did, the discovery, that is. xD)

Is your sister having less conscious sleep paralysis now? Or does she still have it regularly, but now that she knows what it is, is it less scary? I hope so!

I'm sorry, I'm guilty of lateness myself. First this somehow got into the backlog, and then I went on hiatus... ugh *headdesk*

I don't think I'm capable of lucid dreams. The few times I realized I was dreaming, I couldn't even think of changing the course before I woke up -_- Usually I have weird enough dreams to not care either way, but it's exam time now and I'm getting irritated and stressed by the all the number and manner of ways in which I can get bad grades =A=

Yeah... that didn't work out so well. She won't believe me, doesn't even want to look it up on the net. Says that it can't be that (and stop blabbering nonsense, sis) since it only occured once or twice and not once since then (nevermind the trigger is stress and it says that people usually experience it very rarely anyway). Firmly believes it's some one-time psychological quirk and shut up already, I don't want to hear your stupid theories anymore, go back to watching your cartoons. That's what I get when I actually try to help. And people wonder why I'm antisocial >_>

But yeah, the sleep paralysis has stopped for now (and she's pretending it never existed in the first place) ^^:

I've had a few lucid dreams. =/ Most of them were so vivid that they stayed with me for days, and I'd dream the same thing the next night. It was horrid. I hated it.

I've been having them more lately... I'm not sure why. Haha. But I never bother to write them down. My latest dream actually included Danny for some strange reason... XD

This is awesome, btw. ^^

I've always wanted to have a lucid dream (well, learn how to make my dreams lucid anytime I wanna XD), but there's one problem; I sleep in a lot (yay for homeschooling! ), so my mom or my dad often wake me up, and I forget my dream then. :c

Well, when I was really into it, I was part of a forum, and the people there helped me so much. It's called LD4All, it's also in English, but I was part of the Dutch forum. c:

What also really helps is to keep a dream journal, with all your dreams written in it. I don't know if you do it, but it's really handy. Just write your dreams/parts of dreams in there immidiately after you've woken up, that way you remember them better. But not right after you've woken up, sorry, it helps just to lie down for a moment and try to remember everything. Then you write them down.
I'm not doing it anymore because I don't have time do write my dreams down. But I'm planning on picking it up again in the summer.

What's also a good technique, is WBTB. Just google for it, because, well, it's hard for me to explain in English. I guess it's findable here, [link] Under the 'how' button.

And don't worry, with some it just takes some time. I've seen some who did months before they finally achieved one. Some in weeks. You'll get your lucid dream, eventually.

And thanks!

When I dream, I often have dreams that I'm flying by flapping my arms (XD) and when I wake up, my covers are EVERYWHERE, which means I've been "flapping" my arms in my sleep XD False awakening always freaks me out when it happens to me...

Man, that's great! How many did you have? I used to count, but now I just don't have time left. It's frustrating. :\ Luckily I have my final exams in just a few weeks from now, and after that I'll be free to dream again. Well... To actually try to get a lucid dream. I'm not really trying anymore.

Ooh, I would love to have some Danny dreams! I always tried and tried to get Danny to appear in my dreams, but every time I just failed. Can I borrow some of your Danny dreams?

False Awakening. I hate it too. So much. Especially when it is a nightmare and then it just keeps appearing again and again. Ugh.

Oh, heh, wow. I don't really count because I can have like, 4 to 8 in a night. xD
Lately, a lot of them have been turning into crossovers, because I just can't decide what's my favourite. XD

....Haha, suuree! If you an find a way, you can have them. I have plenty to spare~! ;D

Ohmygoshaaaagggh. I hadn't had one like that in forever. But just two nights ago I had a horrible nightmare which was basically just False Awakening. So many times I lost count. All because I forgot to turn my music on before I went to sleep.
(I need music when I sleep, because that's how I tell if I'm awake or not).
