Egg Tempera and gold leaf on board. For this piece I used my friend Kate as a model and came up with the idea of a portrait blending in with a landscape quite literally. I really want to experiement more with surrealist portraiture. This is my second ever egg tempera painting and I love the medium! Gold leafing was also a new experience. It's really hard to actually see the correct color and luminescence from this photo...the real painting is much more vibrant!
