Oh, yeesh. Hm. This does raise some interesting questions, however. . .
Say someone owes the devil something, whether their soul or something specific (rare magical artifacts anyone?) but they die before it can be brought to them. . . Would the Devil demand debt due from their relatives or friends?

I would think if they die before fulfilling their debt, their soul belongs to the devil.
To set their soul free, i guess a relative and/or close friend would have to take up the task, with the risk of losing their own soul

Hmmm. Sounds like something the Devil would capitalize on, in order to gain even more souls. Wonder if it would apply a generation or two later. . .

Hmmm . . . All great things to ponder.
Which actually brings up another question. . . What makes a contract, a Soul Contract?
I mean is the ink and paper magical? Does it only matter who writes it, since they put their own power into it? Or could a regular person get their hands on a Soul Contract and get someone’s soul in some way?

Well, alrighty, in Cuphead sure, but I was thinking more. . . Across the reams. Any world, that sort of thing. Like in the Princess and the Frog with Dr. Facilier. He deals in demons and souls and that sort of thing, even though his contracts tend to be more verbal and all that.
Just . . . What’s the secret to their power?! It’s been on my mind the past coupla days, and thought discussing it with someone else would brook some answers, of one kind or another.

to keep it short, only those with the power to can deal with souls
those who can actual use them that is

. . . I uh, I’m sorry, but what? That didn’t make much sense. I read it aloud too, and I feel like I’m missing something here. . . :-/

Like. the devil deals with souls because he has the power to. he can actually use the soul.

Ohhh. That makes sense, actually.
Hmmmm. . . . Makes me think of something tho. You know that movie, the princess and the frog, with Dr. Facilier? Well, he sorta deals in souls, but he’s mostly a middle-man for the spirits/creatures that would actually USE those souls. I suppose in a way, King Dice does the same for the Devil, luring in patrons and tricking them into gambling everything away.
Every nickel and penny, dime and dollar. Even their very SOULS . . .

I played with the idea, but it took away from whole 'blank box' ominous face he's got
its hard to find middle ground with these two characters

*Instant tears* that's so sad D':
And noooo Freddy don't! Elder Fredbear loved you as much as he loved Eddy (he probably just knew that Eddy could handle the power more or something, I dunno)
Ahh this Au, I hardly know anything about it aside from these doodles, but I love it XD
