Description Um...this took me...10 is hours. I think.

I've been dying to paint her for a while. But nothing seemed to work with creatng the sketch. I finally just went and looked at a lot of cat pictures. That helped.

My biggest challenge was the clothe she was sitting on. I had to repaint that 3-4 tims before I was ok with it. I normally don't do drappy clothe like this.

Really nice work. The cloth is very well done, also the fur texture. Now you need to teach me how to make a cat accept earrings or clips

LOL! Convincing a cat to wear earrings would be a pretty miraculous trick.Β  Β

And thank you. Β  The cloth was a challenge.Β  I had to stare at quite a few pictures of cloth draped over various objects.Β  Worth it though.Β

The wrinkled and folded cloth is a classic painting exercise. I should try that myself some time too. It's really helpful to be good at it, helps with clothes as well as all sort of curtains and deco cloth in scenes. The folds and wrinkles usually add much to any image.

this is beautiful i love the twisting of the body, the colors (greys, reds, tans). The fur is lovely and such clean detail on the jewels.

I think her elbow (not sure what that is for cat) looks a bit flat in the middle. I think the shadow is good but perhaps the fur looks too straight across and not form around her joint so to speak. Her nose i think could be softened it looks a little too clean cut and her face doesn't exactly emit the traditional cat to me- at least her nuzzle looks too small! the elongation and downward angle is nice. Of course this may be stylization or fitting to your preference

I think some fur inside the ears and some fluff around the edges would make her look more cat and real she looks a bit like a cut out with such clean edges!

over all i really like this piece and i am glad i stopped by to find it !

The nose is a little sharp. The elongation was a bit stylized. I kind of wanted to emphasize the face a little.

Thanks for the favorite, the critique and the compliments. I may ask your advice on a sketch I created over the weekend. I'm having some trouble with one hand and it's driving me nuts. I have to scan it first. Right now I just got back from a trip and I'm a little tired.

Thank you!

I'm just glad I finally found out how to paint her. She sat in 'idea mode' for a year. XD
