Okay, so for my university course we have these little A6 books we're supposed to be wild and creative with. Use it as a journal of our uni experience, be inspired by the things we see out in the world and sketch things in it, and just generally be "arty". You know, those things which are definitely the way my brain functions. *sigh* Well, today I suddenly got inspiration to draw Sammi lounging and playing it cool, so I thought "Fine, if they want me to draw in this thing then I will!" ...I mean, this probably isn't what they had in mind, but here we are. I made an ink for inktabur. I used a fine ballpoint pen for the most part, and a Sharpie to fill in the large black areas on the coat. You can still see the pencil lines in some areas too.

So I previously drew Sammi here:

Then in August, I started sketching a pic with her wearing the outfit I came up with for her. Black leather trenchcoat (complete with flower design on the left arm + shoulder to match her tattoo, and her name written down the right side), jeans (?), belt, and two black ribbon-band-things traditional for her people. They're like a status symbol; the more you have, the more wealthy/famous you are. She wears one around her middle and the other around her right ankle. And she's rocking the open chest look. I decided she's an alien, as mentioned before elsewhere, and her species are the Zarubon. They have a bit of a reputation for short tempers and large egos. They like to put the prefix "Zaru-" onto a lot of things.

Anyway, yes, I did edit this a bit digitally. Just to add the darkened background, and remove some of the dirt on the paper. I didn't touch the drawing itself. Here it is without such edits:

I like how it turned out! I'm not 100% on the hair, but everything else turned out pretty great considering it was on a tiny page with no Ctrl+Z! (I would have liked a finer pen for this though.)

Oh, and here's a clearer look at what her name looks like written in Zaru (i.e. her native language, as it appears written on her coat):

(Vertical type, vertical handwriting, horizontal type, horizontal handwriting) Back when I started that other drawing I made a whole alphabet. 30 letters, with 12 vowels and 18 consonants! Yeah, it's not just 1-to-1. Maybe I'll show it sometime.
