A portrait of Leela Shepard and Garrus and Kevin and Ismene and Urz. HA

Commentary from Tony:
"So.....this is an ADORABLE picture.

While Leela has yet to really interact with the kids, trust me I have plans, I figure they'll form a strong bond. While they won't necessarily know about Leela's life before being Leela right away it will become a topic as I have a plan for that, but I digress. The whole thing about this picture is to show the mixed family unit.

You have Kevin who is the older of the two siblings. He's a bit rough around the edges. In less than a year he lost his dad, and his mother, who was a turian that his father married and she died while on a mission. Two major losses, one he never got to say goodbye too and the other he watched slowly die over the course of several months due to injuries and medical issues due to an attack on the Crucible. Being the older of the two he has the better understanding of the events and has quite a bit of pent up anger that Garrus sometimes has a hard time dealing with as he's not used to human children and due to Kevin's mixed upbringing he finds the boy to be a mystery. Over the story though he's grown softer and kinder toward Garrus and the others and even calls members of the crew by "Aunt" or "uncle" and even before Leela adopts calling Hannah "Grandma." His eyes and smile definitely show how much he has and will continue to grow.

Ismene.....oh dear god Ismene. This little firecracker took a bit for me to get a handle on because again she's like Kevin with a human and turian upbringing. Where as Kevin's biological mother died giving birth to him, Ismene's biological father bailed on her and her mother and refuted all claims to her leaving her an orphan after Reese, her human father, died. So like her older brother both human and turian sides of the family abandoned her; leaving her and her brother in Garrus' care after Garrus befriended their dad. Bright eyed and full of energy she's always doing something or getting into things and travels around with a stuffed teddy bear, who is very reminiscent to a bear that's fond of Hunny, and enjoys dressing him up and acting like he's alive. At three she doesn't have much of a grasp on the situation of their life up to their parent's death. While she knows they are gone, it doesn't afffect her as much as her brother though occasionally it makes her sad. Still she's always a bundle of energy and manages to bring smiles to the faces of everyone she meets.

As for Garrus and Leela...well I don't think they need any introduction but all I can say is that they see them as their kids and that will never change.

Urz...well Urz is happy with his retirement and quite content at being the toy to a couple of kids who try to occasionally ride him like a horse, put bits of clothing on him to take weird pictures, and occasionally get fed table scraps or curl up on the floor with them and nap. Also he's a big sucker for belly rubs from Leela and has a bit of an awkward relationship with Garrus over who the real head of the house is."
