Playing around with plans for my first objective in CW.

I kinda like this one

From the Following your Brothers Objective.

Rowan | Stallion | Exile

Rowan sat, still as stone listening to the mare rattle on, which oddly was one of his favorite things to do. Simply the dulcet sounds of a mares voice was enough to sooth his suffering. But the more she spoke, the more his brow began to furrow in indignation. As much as his paranoia and shame wanted to cripple him once and for all, it was a weak defense against those infallible truths. What had he been fighting for? Why had he been training at all if he were to just give up now. What kind of stallion was he? Cowering in the ash, weeping for his mother. His current actions were far more shameful than anything he had committed thus far. As Prime basically spelt out for him, every other "failure" had been made with very strategic, and forced agendas. Situations that were beyond his control. But this? Choosing to hide, and die in a dead forest, rather than rise to the occasion and be the stallion he had been fighting to become? Putting words to these thoughts, Rowan murmured under his breath. "What have I become? What shame is worse than this?"
His eyes connected with the mares and he shook his head in abject disbelief. "Of all in the world, it took a mare I barely know to make me see what a true fool I have been." he paused again shifting his gaze to the new stallion that had joined them in the thicket. Ordinarily his loner personality would have been offended and put off by the strangers appearance, but in this particular situation it only served to propel him higher from his mental wasteland. A stallion that didn't know him in the least, even after having seen his scar, had come in search for them. Perhaps there would be some in the herd that would think different of him for having been born a bachelor, but there were clearly still others more than willing to make their own judgements based on actions, not birth.
And then of course there was the fact they both pointed out. Hazel...that doe eyed, giggling filly, who was becoming a mare, living, waiting, praying for a hero no doubt. Who could save her if not him? Who could be the family she needed now if not himself? His mother would be proud of the stallion he became if it was for the good of others, especially her, and not for the selfish sufferings he had nearly succumbed to.
Giving a deep inhale at the mares tug, the stallion rose to his hooves in a smooth, almost shockingly fluid motion and stood, stronger and firmer than he had stood in all his life. "I am not weak. And I am not a coward. Whatever curse of the mind that convinced me of such things, is an illness I will now overcome." He turned once more to face the mare, holding her gaze for a few moments, his eyes speaking volumes for his respect and gratitude to that salmon maned spitfire. He leaned forward then and brushed his face along hers tenderly. "You have saved me in so many meanings of the word. You wouldn't give up, no matter how I resisted. Thank..you." he cooed into her ear before pulling back, giving her an affirmative nod before turning to the stallion. "Dmitri was it? Well, I am Rowan, Son of Oak, and I am not a Bachelor stallion. I am an Exile, and I will follow them where ever they lead." he announced strongly, a smile cracking the corners of his lips. "I will avenge my father and liberate my sister, or die trying." he added rearing onto his hind legs with a powerful whinny. "We have a herd to catch up to." he replied upon the thud that accompanied his hooves return to the ashy earth and smiled genuinely to his two companions before taking off once again, this time towards the "flames" of change and danger, rather than away.

Prime | Guard

Not that she would admit it to anyone but when his gentle response the stones that had weighted down on her heart now cracked with a burning flame in their replace. He would come with them after all, he would fight against his fears instead of hiding..and it was all thanks to her and Dmitri. However his close encounter with her was surprising to her she had herself automatically lent towards him as well. She had never seen the stallion in such high spirit before, maybe just maybe he had made a turn for the better at last. She shook her head moving towards the high spirited roan bay with a light giggle she moved even closer.

“What kind of friend would I have been not to? Silly~”

She bumped her shoulder against Rowans and then looked at them both with a smile. They were fine boys both of them even if they came from the bachelor herd. It’s not the scars the makes the horse but the other way around she thought and hummed softly. Prime was sure not one to not be judgmental but she also had enough sense to be a bit open minded perhaps there was others in the Bachelor herd that were just like these two guys. Only way to find out was to go there and see for themselves. Perhaps they might be able to free some of the mares as well? This could be the start of something bigger than she ever would have imagined. We could defeat them! It was a strange thought for her but she was after this action a little keener on this whole journey. It could be life changing for more horses than she had realized and that thought made her quite exited to say the least.

Her thoughts however soon went to the ashes she stood in those he had laid in, his mothers and probably both her own parents to. Amongst so many other horses and animals that had died here before them. This Island was no one longer to call home but perhaps with time it could be one again. Prime lowered her head almost whispering as she closed her  eyes in what could have been a prayer but was nothing but a promise to the mare she never would have the pleasure of meeting.

“I may not have gotten to know you but I promise you that I will look after him and make sure he finds his sister…”

A last tear run down her cheek to land in the ashes of the woods, it landed on the ground scattering some of the ashes only to relive some sprouts growing stronger than before. Prime couldn’t help but to smile in amassment this land was just as stubborn as they were. With some luck it would heal itself to bring on a new round of horses just as great as the once around her with that happy thought she looked to Dmitri, moving her muzzle closer to his ear to whisper.

“I owe you one for this Dmitri.”

She then turned to Rowan who now seemed as eager as ever to run off again but this time he wouldn’t run by himself and it wouldn’t be in fear but in proud joy. His smile and happy tone was toxic and started to rub off on Prime as well this was awoken hope at its best.

 “Yeah let’s all go home”

Prime uttered before laughing racing of heading up besides Rowans right side. Her heart was at ease and so were her mind now that he was happy and going strong she couldn’t feel the anxiety for the unknown nagging in her thoughts anymore.

Dmitri | Guard

Dmitri nodded towards Rowan, providing the ghost of a smile to as to urge him on. Even when he was rearing to go and up and adam, Dmitri stayed relatively still. He knew he would go with the rest of the herd whever they needed to be, but that didn't make it any easier. Even still... he had to heed the words he himself had just uttered. The herd was stronger together than they were apart, and despite his lack of closeness to any one member, it was quite clear from this exchange alone and a few others he'd had previously that this much was true. They'd look out for each other and even defend against danger, whilst sacrificing their own safety. Or at least... Dmitri knew he would. Despite his unattachment to others... he would fight for every member of this herd until his last and dying breath. He just... he just dearly hoped he wouldn't do so in the wrong way.

He was a bit surprised to hear a sudden whisper in his ear. He'd been so wrapped in his thoughts that the sound nearly startled him, but he had attempted throughout his time as a guard not to react to such things as badly as he might have previously. But that was besides the point right now. His eyes looked towards Prime as he listened to what she said, and as he heard her speak in that low tone, he wondered what she could possibly have owed him for? He simply said a few words to fill Rowan with a bit of courage, that was all. Well, more like simply digging up the courage that was already there. He would not have gotten up from those ashes at all if he didn't ever have it, and that was all the confirmation the Irish Hunter needed. As Prime walked off as well, he nodded once more, giving his regards.

Even when both of them left, however, he couldn't help but mutter quietly, "Yes... home..." He shuddered, knowing that he was alone now and taking refuge in it for a few priceless seconds. Unfortunately, Dmitri was beginning to fully and wholly understand, home was where the Exiles travelled. And whether he liked it or not, now that was to the Bachelor islands. He let his head hang down for a moment, smelling the ashes and remembering those painful images of the members they'd lost in the fire... those screaming voices... those howling whinnies... the fire erupting in a barage of flames... neverending suffering... and then, just... ashes. All that was left... were ashes. But perhaps in time, there would be life here again. All that was needed was a spur of vigor. With a final nod, a respectful wish to those long since dead, Dmitri moved from the forest, following after Rowan and Prime. He remained at the back of the herd until each and every member had clambered onto the land bridge. He remembered his orders, and he nodded towards Cael. They could finally go without another an issue... and they could finally say goodbye to their precious isle without another hitch... he hoped, at least.
