cool, i thought the lower part was incomplete and then i noticed the faint 'veins' (?) that are there. Is it completely digital?

No, not completely. It's built around that middle part with the woman and the green bubbly background, which is traditional. Categorizing such things is kind of difficult. My own standards are that if something has more than just some minor digital touch-ups, it goes into the "digital art" category.

I LOVE the contrast between the detailed butterfly wings and the pencil-like figure. It is wonderful how they merge together with the light blue lines that could be roots or maybe water plants and how it seems like all 4 elements were represented here in a perfect harmony.

That's the pecularity of art: it's not all in the artist's intention, but once the "creation" has been published, it continues to be recreated by the observer. Or at least that's what I always thought. It doesn't mean the artist hasn't any "power" or "control" over his work, but as you said a work is interpretable and that adds new meanings to it.

Nice color scheme, it looks really cool
I like how you did the moth in the corner, and then had all those thin lines going everywhere... kinda like feelers/legs etc. coming out from the moth, but not really... I don't think I'm explaining myself too well here, but I really like the effect

The background merges together fantastically, I especially love the butterfly/moth wings you can almost see. It's quite a contrast with the sketchy-style portrait, but it works well because of the green shadow hues. Coolio
