Conceptual for me....What would auras/souls look like? In theory they just shimmer about your person (auras do) but in my mind they wrap and weave about each other, trailing behind you, always attached. You know, untill you die then they become detached.

If you're good at manipulation, such is possible. I do it to make my baby cousin laugh, since young (very young) children are supposed to be able to see them naturally. Otherwise, they usually shimmer around a person's edges. It depends on the person, though.
