Speedwagon and Diavolo's duality of demonstrates Hirohito Araki's character writing at it's best.

In both character's cases, both had to rise above the slums they grew-up in. However, Speedwagon did so by choosing to accompany and fight for Jonathan Joestar, one of the noblest men he would ever meet. In contrast, Diavolo decides to use [KING CRIMSON] to raise himself. Where Speedwagon fights for the sake of humanity and devotes his life to helping a noble cause, where Diavolo focuses only upon himself and whatever is convenient to himself.
