Description About 5cm across, on suspended, fallen log across a gully, Mt. Field National Park, Tasmania, Australia, Apr 2011.

When fresh, this fungus exudes clear drops of reddish amber fluid above and clear droplets below. It looked like blood from a distance.

I'm not sure how common the mushroom would be out of Australia, particularly the wet rainforest areas. However you might be referring to the Bleeding Tooth Fungus from overseas?

No clue. Most bracket fungi are inedible anyway, and Australian fungi are poorly studied compared to others elsewhere to boot.
