3/5 fleshed Royal Ontario Museum fossils
Plateosaurus engelhardti was a late Triassic prosauropod, ancestor to the giant elephantine titanosaurs of the Cretaceous. The evolutionary split from the heavily feathered theropods was recent, so I’ve included a speculative coat of protofeathers. My rationale is that huge sauropods thermoregulate using gigantothermy, while smaller prosauropods would rely more on insulation.
