Description Hans Christian Andersen

Danish... often referred to in Scandinavia as H. C. Andersen; April 2, 1805 – August 4, 1875)

was a Danish author and poet. Although a prolific writer of plays, travelogues, novels, and poems, Andersen is best remembered for his fairy tales. Andersen's popularity is not limited to children; his stories—called eventyr, or "fairy-tales"—express themes that transcend age and nationality.

Andersen's fairy tales, which have been translated into more than 125 languages, have become culturally embedded in the West's collective consciousness, readily accessible to children, but presenting lessons of virtue and resilience in the face of adversity for mature readers as well. They have inspired motion pictures, plays, ballets, and animated films.

I'm a Dane and I grew up with his stories. It's nice to know that our little country actually does accomplish big things now and then.

This is a really nice picture too.
I've been searching for a few hours, trying to find a drawing of him I could favourite, and I think I found what I was looking for here.

Thank you very much.
I am partial to Danish history.  My father's side of the family originated from Denmark before coming to the USA

My parents were there years ago to visit some of our Joens cousins. I believe we have many family members who were farmers and some cousins who still farm.

It's always gratifying to hear something positive about our ancestral country:
Unbeatable Copenhagen – the Danish capital ranked as world's most liveable city once again. In the July/August issue of the global lifestyle magazine Monocle, Copenhagen was once again proclaimed the world's most liveable city in Monocle's Quality of Life Survey. That makes Copenhagen the first three-time winner ever.

Kim Mellius Larsen (23 October 1945 – 30 September 2018)[1]  was a Danish rock  and pop  musician. He was a major selling Scandinavian act with over 2.5 million albums sold.[2]

I feel like going to read the undisney-fied versions of his stories.
