Thank you for taking the time to visit my gallery! Faves, comments, collecting, and recommendations are always appreciated. Please respect my work by not printing, selling, or reposting it.Here is another look at Lower Ruckel Creek Falls, one of the most popular off-trail waterfalls in the Columbia River Gorge. It requires a fairly steep hike followed by a fairly steep bushwhack (through plentiful poison oak), but the rewards are evident.
NOTE: When displayed at its default size, the photo may appear a bit "soft". FULL VIEW is highly recommended for better appreciation of detail.
(Technical details: Nikon D70, Manfrotto 190XPROB tripod, Nikon 12-24 lens, Hoya Circular Polarizer, f/22, 3 seconds.)

Thank you for your feedback. It is difficult for me to be objective about these things, but I think I also prefer the vertical composition. I included the horizontal for people who wanted to use it for desktop wallpaper.

It is indeed. It's a shame that there are no trails leading to it so that more people can see it. But there is a good side effect to that... it will remain generally unspoiled.

Very true. I know of a pretty good waterfall way back in the Pennsylvania woods. Gotta practically climb down a cliff to get there in one day, but garbage still manages to get there.

Yes indeed... I have been to Ramona Falls several times. While you were there, I hope that you spent time photographing the creek downstream. The waterfall is terrific, but in my opinion the creek offers many more possibilities.
