"good morning"

We stayed in this amazing little ryokan (hostel/inn/bed 'n' breakfast) and they let me take some pictures in the morning before breakfast. next door, where the light is pouring in from, was an abandoned building that was torn down. They enjoy the sun in the morning now, before a three story apartment building is built there. space becomes a whole different concept.

sorry i dont remember, but it is cheaper than a hotel.

yes like all the places we stayed, it was very cozy and welcoming i feel like they've mastered the ability to not feel cramped even in small spaces.

I had to fav this instantly as soon as I saw it. I had no idea it was a DD but it is seriously deserved. It strongly reminds me of my childhood..such a long time ago..I would sit in my mother's kitchen..I d sit on the window still and watch the morning sun while my mom prepares breakfast.I was 4 but the light was just like this photo.So soft and warm and now I feel nice and warm

Thank you very much! I think it's great how many people feel nostalgic when they see this image. I've learned something about the commonalities we all share, through the comments I've received here. A kitchen is a gathering place for family and friends, where more than just food can be shared, and I maybe that's part of why so many people identify with the image.
