How did you make the colored pencil to come out so well? Everytime I color a drawing in, it looks terrible. I actually ruin the drawing! Especially when I scan it in. Is is the kind of colored pencils that you use, or what? Please fill me in

i used really cheap pencils this time actually (brand: Nicole, they were only $10), but my trick is to use light pressure on the pencils and go over the area untill you reach desired color. then i blend the colors together with a white colored pencil. And i know how you feel. I used to ruin my drawings too but i borrowed a book from my library called "water coloring with colored pencils" (i think that was the title) and it shows you how to get vivid color on your picture. I don't like using crayola pencils because the color doesn't turn out so well (in my opion). Also, for shading with the colors, use a base color and leave the areas where you want there to be highlights white (faded to white of course). Then add shadows and fade the highlights untill you see fit. ^_^ this takes a lot of practice seeing as i have been drawing and coloring just horses for almost 4 years now. Just keep drawing!

I hope this helps!!!

Stunning work! The colors are vivid and bright, and I love the pose! The only thing I see is the right hind leg muscle is a little off. On a horse, they're more rounded and compact as a muscle should look, while here it appears droopy. That's a minor and easy fix; everything else looks great Hope I helped
