- True fact, you guys.
Obviously, there can't be Luigi without Mr. L. Regardless if the person using Mr. L has actually played the one, not multiple, one game that Mr. L has actually been featured in.
Honestly, everyone. There is more to Luigi than Mr. L, and if you can't bring out the fact that he's a dynamic character without using Mr. L as some sort of plot device, then you really need to study Luigi's character more. I seriously miss the days when Luigi actually was his own developed character without some alterego overshadowing who he is.
Before you go wailing about Mr. L being such an awesome character, I do agree he is very awesome. But the thing is, people seem to believe that where Luigi exists, Mr. L must as well. These same people are shocked and horrified when they discover that I have never planned an appearance of Mr. L in any of my fanfictions that I have written. All oneshots, planned multi-chapters, etc... perhaps they would mention the Chaos Heart, sure, and Luigi would be guilty of what he had done as Mr. L, sure, but Mr. L doesn't make an appearance -- and that's the point I'm trying to make here.
Guess what, you guys? It is possible to write a fanfiction that has Luigi rather upfront in the story (whether or not it is in his limited omniscient) without introducing Mr. L. Why, I've got two examples right here ! Huzzah! And they both happen to be well written and also feature Mario actually being a not-dick to Luigi, something else that really bothers me about fanfiction (what with the fact that almost everyone is convinced Mario and Luigi constantly want to beat the snot out of each other -- come on, they're brothers, for crying out loud. you ever play the Mario & Luigi RPG series, you dolts?). I really recommend reading the both of them while you're here, by the way. They're amazing reads, even if they're both not finished.
Case closed. I will leave comments on, but if anything gets incredibly dicey and I receive the same comments over and over, I will close them off. I'm willing to receive those flaming comments on "u r a mr. l hater!!/111" as long as there aren't THREE THOUSAND people who make the same fucking comment.

I agree with this! I think many so called fans like to use Mr.L as an excuse to not like Luigi. Make him more "improved" in their eyes.

Bu Mr.L is merely a trick! You know when you see those hypnotists at the funfair, and they hypnotise someone to, say, act like a cow? That's what Nastasia did to Luigi, to create Mr.L! She basically just used a simple hypnotic trick to make Luigi believe he was someone else. Mr.L was just a figment of Nastasia's cruel imagination, brought to life in Luigi.

And I also agree with what you said about Mario & Luigi. It really bothers me that people often portray Mario is being a dick to Luigi. Seriously, they're brothers and best friends. Mario would never mistreat his brother. They really need to play the Mario & Luigi games. And it's even been officially stated in the games that they share a very close bond with one another. Out of all of the characters in the Mario series, Mario is the one that Luigi is the closest too.

Meh, Mr.L in general is overrated to me. I hate how the fans turn him into a seductive Playboy. And the fact that he's in nearly EVERY story with Luigi nowadays only confirms that I'm right. I'm more of a fan of Luigi himself instead of Mr.L.

Truthfully, I love Mr. L's character, but people take it TOO far ALL the time. (Saiiko, no offense) And the Mr.L x Daisy pairing bothers me as well. Mr. L doesn't make an appearance in ANY other game except SPM. He's just a Luigi who was brainwashed to help Count Bleck and put the odds in their favors. That's it. He ISN'T a dark side of Luigi that can appear, intended or not, and he ISN'T a perv OR sexual to Daisy.

I used to like Mr.L, until some of his fans (A.K.A FANGIRLS) ruined him for me. A lot of people are making Mr.L like a pervert, which isn't true at all (Saiiko, no offence. -_-). Pairing Mr.L and Daisy together makes no sense, they don't even know each other. I highly doubt and hope he won't be in the next Paper Mario, or we'll see a bunch of fanfictions about him. I also really hope Mario isn't the villian because most of the people think that:
Bowser=Villian in Paper Mario
Peach=Villian in Paper Mario: TTYD(I think I'm wrong)
Luigi=Villian in Super Paper Mario
(Paper Mario Sticker Star here)
Mario might not be the villian in Sticker Star, and I hope he isn't. He doesn't need ego fangirls.

LUIGI AND DAISY ARE NOT A CONFIRMED OR CANON COUPLE. I PLAY MARIO KART WII A LOT, BUT IF YOU THINK THEY ARE OFFICIAL BECAUSE OF DAISY CIRCUIT, THEN PLEASE GTFO. MARIO KART WII IS A SPINOFF OF MARIO'S GAMES AND DOES NOT AFFECT THE STORYLINE. IT MAKES NO SENSE TO PAIR MR.L AND DAISY JUST BECAUSE OF LUIGI AND DAISY. LUIGI CANNOT TRANSFORM INTO MR.L WITHOUT DIMENTIO'S HELP. WHY WOULD YOU EVEN THINK HE WOULD WANT TO TRANSFORM INTO MR.L? JUST SO HE CAN GET DAISY? I DON'T THINK SO. LUIGI IS NOT STUPID. I agree. Personally, I'm writing a fanfiction that involves Mr. L, but it takes place in an alternate plot twist that happens during the SPM storyline where Mr. L exists, therefore it makes perfect sense for him to be there.

I completely agree with you on this point. Mr. L. was only created through the brainwashing of Nastasia and Dementio. It's not like Mr. L. is a part of who Luigi is. It's like convincing a person to act like someone they're not at all. The only real dark side to Luigi's character is his underlying jealousy of Mario, which many people agree is completely justified. If Mr. L. were to appear again, it would only be through a similar kind of brainwashing. And that's the way it should be.

Truthfully I can't find very many fanfics about mr. L. But then again I am looking for ones about him specifically so maybe I missed these? Anyway, I can see why you would hate something like this, seeing the same thing being used as a plot device over and over again must be tiresome.

- Argh, I hate it when Dimentio is being used as a plot device. Although he was a very interesting character (I never really liked him nor not liked him -- just thought he was interesting), he wasn't really much of a character you would want to bring up over and over again. Isn't there a way of exploring the little plot hole of the Chaos Heart only going away when its host (Luigi in this case) dies without bringing Dimentio into the picture in some way?
Fawful's not so bad, but I think three games of him is enough. We don't need fanfictions of him. (I love Fawful, though, by the way. One of the reasons why I like the Mario & Luigi series is because he's a very dynamic villain.) Though, really, he seems to be Bowser's replacement in the fandom, which I believe is idiotic -- Bowser doesn't get nearly as much attention as he should, especially after Mario & Luigi RPG3, which gave me a greater appreciation for him as a villain and as a character in general. But moreover, he's not just a villain -- he's shown that he is his individual character all by itself.
Speaking of Mario & Luigi RPG3, it would be kinda cool if someone wrote a fanfiction about the Dark Star. I thought it was rather interesting that as soon as the Dark Star took Bowser's shape it could actually speak. I might write something about that some day, since no one seems to pay enough attention to the Dark Star. Also, how did nobody discover its location earlier? It's worth investigating, at least.
Oh yes, definitely. Villain characters that are of pure evil (Fawful is maniacally evil; there is no inch of good within him) should not be downsized from their evilness and turned "good" in some way. Bowser doesn't count because he has canonly done good if it benefits him in some way. What I don't understand is why people turn Mr. L into a ladiesman and assume that he would be pursuing Daisy in the first place. If you ask me, I would think he would want to kill her considering she's good -- also, he has been shown not to care about what happens to the world, so we can only assume that he has no "heart" in the sense that he really doesn't care about any individual person (so he thus wouldn't care about Daisy). The only people he would love at all are: Brobot, and himself. This is a somewhat accurate representation of how I think Mr. L would act.
Lastly, it really annoys me that every fanfiction Mr. L appears in, he appears in because Luigi got knocked out. Luigi probably faints, hits his head, etc on a regular basis considering how clumsy he is. Not only that, but Luigi probably has no idea of Mr. L's existence, so how would he be able to communicate with him? He wouldn't, that's how. If he had heard of Mr. L's existence at all, it would be because his friends told him so.
