Another illustration based on my mermaid and sailor ocs.I'm slowly planning how to share their story with you guys. I'm really bad at expressing myself in words heh

The fishes on the ceiling should have some more light, like if they were night-lights when they are illuminated. If a little more sparkle is added, the fishes will look more illuminating and sparkly. Even the ceiling is a bit shadowy, on the upper-left and the lower-right. So it could use a little more light as well.
I gotta say, I do love mermaids. I've seen some pictures of mermaids together with different love interests like mermen and humans, though I've never seen anything like this before. The sailor together with the mermaid in this one? I totally love it! This picture has given me some inspiration for something like this. Either just a drawing, or a story to go with it too.

First off, I have to say the first reaction I had to this piece was "Oh my gosh I want to write a story about them!". After, I saw that you explained that these are some of your original characters and I want to say that I think you did a great job in depicting them, they are lively and expressive, and I feel like I can almost tell exactly what they're thinking. You did a great job of capturing the light, which I know can be very difficult in some mediums. Some of the stippling on the ceiling is a bit confusing to the eyes, and I think this could be worked more so that what you're trying to achieve is more obvious (I definitely wouldn't completely take it away though, because it is a beautiful effect). I love your style and, overall, I think you did a great job!

About commissionsHi guys! I've been receiving lots of mails and messages about commissions lately. Is hard for me to "close" commissions, because one week I'm completely stressfull with tons of work, and the next maybe I'm not. So yeah, I like to pick one or two commissions every now and then.
So I just wanted to apology if I don't reply all the messages though I read them all and try to make a list to stay organized. It's impossible for me to draw all the requests (the truth is, I work full time on a studio and I have little time left for freelance). Sometimes I choose the commissions I know I'd enjoy the most or those that depending on the complexity, fit better in my schedules.
So please, don't be offended if you haven't received a reply yet. I trully appreciate your trust and interest and I'm forever grateful for the work I have. And for those commissions I'm already working on

There's magic and mystery and wonder seeping from this. The colors, the lighting, the expressions, they all really set a mood that has enough whimsy to be like a modern fairytale, but still feels really down to earth at the same time, creating a feel that seems practical and believable.
