Japanese spirit+Anime drawing style+Antrho twist+Japanese culture= this interpretation of the Inugami

An Inugami is a dog spirit who is a guardian and/or a vengeful spirit for the family that summons it

This was my first picture that was ENTIRELY based off Japanese cultural and historical aspects. This was extremely fun to do and it is only the first that I plan to base off of another culture.

If you notice the scar around the neck, it is a reference to how an Inugami was said to be summoned. A dog was buried up to its neck and surrounded with food that it cannot reach, then the head is sawn off by the one who wishes to summon the spirit (just a little inside view and a little lesson 😉, I know, it's pretty brutal)
