there's no imitation for song,luminescence,
no other way to say-
anything.
among the ashes of cigarettes, under red-lights
on the turnpike,
in the cold light of the sky
-line your words with electric sunlight
streaming through an apartment window
wake up this morning
to cold coffee: dishes piled in the
-sink [into the absence of warmth beside
you] come home in the evening
I will not be there to greet you at the door,
take your coat, or speak soft nuances that hint at
me;
loving you

I love how I can feel the emotion of this. It feels like that sad sort of determined finality to me, and those final lines just kind of pull at my heart.
