It is, I concede. My inspiration came from a piece by Paul Dainton depicting a Space Wolves squad, with the sergeant using a sort of Uzibolter about this thin.

One of the things I dislike about the "new age" space marines is lack of individuality, of that healthy dose of questing for one's own glory and showing it. The Heresy Age was very different Torgaddon seems nothing like the "common" bald marine.

Couldn't agree more, there are far to few characters that have any personality that have spawned from the shiny vanilla marines of the "41 century".
Torgaddon is just just a great example of the complexity of very core of the heresy, a truly lovable character.

I saw a piece of artwork with that sub-machinegun-esque bolt pistol, and found it really sleek. But yes, it strays from the Space Marines style.
